Our Fabric Testing Process

Color & Weight Consistency

At The Vogue Lab, we ensure color consistency by comparing every new batch of fabric with an original sample under specialized lighting. This guarantees that even if you place separate orders at different times, the colors will match perfectly. Additionally, we weigh each fabric to ensure it meets our strict weight standards.

Shrinkage Resistance

We understand the disappointment of a new favorite jacket not surviving its first wash or iron. To combat this, we blend polyester into our fabrics, making them less prone to shrinking. Additionally, we pre-wash all our fabrics to ensure durability and longevity.

Fade Resistance

Our diligent dyeing process ensures colors that last. We test different fabric patches under UV light, wash colored patches against white fabric to ensure the colors won’t run, and soak the fabric for 48 hours. The end result? Vibrant colors that don’t fade or run.

Durability Testing

We ensure our fabric is tough enough to withstand daily wear. Using a specialized machine, we rub a fabric sample against an abrasive surface for a set duration to test for balling and wear. Only fabrics that pass this rigorous test, showing no significant damage, make it into our final products.

Tensile Strength

At The Vogue Lab, we rigorously test all our fabrics for tensile strength. We assess how far the fabric can stretch before the fibers tear and how long it takes for permanent damage to occur. Fabrics that don’t meet our stringent durability standards are not used in our products.

Proposition 65 Compliance

California enforces strict regulations on chemical use, and at The Vogue Lab, we prioritize safety. We test our entire range of materials—including zippers, dyes, and buttons—annually to ensure full compliance with Proposition 65 regulations.
